Confirmation Program

Community Congregational Church has a two-year confirmation program to prepare 7th through 9th grade age students for the Affirmation of Baptism in the spring.  Participants attend weekly classes on Sundays at 9:00 a.m. and Wednesdays at 7:00 p.m.  Regular worship attendance is expected as well.

Major topics of study will be worship, prayer, stewardship, Jesus of Nazareth, the sacraments, Apostle's Creed, and the 10 commandments.  Participants will learn how these relate to their active faith as they continue on as a confirmed member of the church.  They are guided by pastoral and lay leadership which fosters small group interaction.  There will also be opportunities for larger group experiences as well.

The highlight of each year is a retreat to Pilgrim Park in Princeton, Illinois.  There will also be varous service and fellowship opportunities that occur throughout the year made possible by the involvement of parents and other lay leadership from the congregation.
