Our Mission Team

The Mission Team helps the church by building enthusiasm, directing and engaging the way the church caries out its specific mission projects and programs; as Jesus directed us.

The Mission Team educates the congregation by teaching us about the various missions we support either through our annual budget or through exposure to the United Church of Christ based missions.

We support the UCC 5 by 5 campaign which includes Blanket Sunday, One Great Hour of Sharing, Strengthen the Church, Neighbors in Need, and the Christmas Fund.

Once a year we dedicate our budgeted mission giving. Our current mission partners are Back Bay Mission, Elderday Care Center, Emmaus House, Mutual Ground, Pilgrim Park, and Lifelink. we also dedicate giving to OCWM - Our Church's Wider Mission.

The hands on missions we support include: proving food for the Elburn Food Pantry once per month; provide and serve dinner to the Lazarus House guests on the first Thursday of every month; and at Christmas our congregation adopts a needy family; and decorates a mitten tree. Some of our members also knit shawls for those within the congregation or community who need to be surrounded by a sense of love and moral support during a difficult time.
